How to output the mesh information.

Hello,

Is there a way to output the 2D mesh information to a text file that can be used for other codes?

I would like to have the mesh shape, vertex coordinates, and geometry index.

Thanks.

Hi,

"File > Export > Third-Party FEA" is probably your best option. Other formats, such as NASTRAN, use simple text files. By knowing your model (coordinates of the nodes, which nodes compromise which elements, and so on), it should be relatively easy to figure out the NASTRAN file format.

Note that you need to do a "Check Model" before you can export the model, so you need the Element Type, Element Definition, and Material at a minimum.
