Export wirefreme (linebody) model from Autodesk Simulation Multyphysics to IGES

Hi,

I have problem with exporting linebody model from ASM 2013 to .iges file. I want to import this iges file to inventor but it doesn't work.
Can anybody help me with this issue? Exist any other way to transport this wireframe from ASM to Inventor?

Thanks,

Kuba

Hi Kuba,

I have a series of questions.

  1. What do you want to do with the lines when you import them into Inventor? For example, do you want to make a sketch from the lines? Do something else with them?
  2. What format does Inventor support for whatever you are trying to do? DXF? DWG? Be aware that there are two types of IGES files: one is a wireframe file, and the other is a solid or surface model.
  3. What type of model doe the lines come from? Is it a CAD model that was imported into Simulation? Is it a hand-built model that you want to get into Inventor?
