Errors when opening FEA file

Hello all,

I am getting a set of errors within simulation mechanical 360 2013 (education version).  I've attached images of them.  The first 2 are when opening a FEA file. The third is when trying to edit the element definition.  I'm not doing anything wild; just following this example:  http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Simulation_Mechanical/enu/2013/Help/0031-Autodesk31/0855-Examples855/08...

I tried doing an install repair, reinstall, and a redownload/reinstall as well.

Thanks for the help!

It appears that you are attempting to prepare a fluid flow analysis.  The Simulation Mechanical 360 software does not provide the ability to perform fluid flow analysis.  This software does provide the ability to perform linear static stress, linear dynamics, non-linear and thermal analyses.  I suggest that you attempt one of these other analysis types first and let me know if you still experience any issues.

Pat,

Thanks for the help.  I was not attempting a fluid flow.  I am doing a steady state heat transfer from the mechanical 360 examples.  I tried 3 different models.

The file opens fine when I attempt it on my other computer but results in the solve failing at 11 seconds with this error: (note this image is not one of the example ones, but something simple i put together quickly; both examples i did failed in this exact same manner).

The error indicates a problem uploading the model to the cloud.  Does your original model reside on your workstation, or does it reside on a network location?  It may also be helpful for you to provide your "DSSP.log" file located in your computer's %TEMP% directory.  This log contains the Simulation Job Manager event information during the process of uploading, running the analysis and downloading  results from the cloud.
