Error in RIKS - Zero pivot

I'm trying to run a Riks analysis, and I get the following error message:

** Error: zero pivot at node5's Tx degree of freedom (EQN#25)!

What is this due to? The solver halves the time-step after this. Also, I am trying to model a pressure, but since Riks does not support this, I am using a variable load (but constant function) normal to the surface instead. This should have the same effect, right?

Thanks,

Björn

I don't know why this happend.

Could you share your log file at least?

Thanks.

Thanks, but the problem solved itself when I switched to a different solver (from AMG to Sparse). Not sure why it might have happened?

Do you mean "from Sparse to AMG", since I only saw this for BCS and never for AMG?

No, I got the problem when I used the AMG. When I switched to sparse, it went away.

That's interesting. Thanks for sharing it.

No problem. I'll see if I can recreate the problem again, and share the log file.
