Creo 2.0 Support for Simulation Mechanical 2012

Is there an update for Simulation Mechanical 2012 to support CAD model imports from Creo 2.0?  My company updated our Pro/E software and files will no longer open in Simulation.  I've tried to update the InCAD for Pro/Engineer with the new Creo location but the pro_comm_msg.bat file is not used in the new version of Pro/E (see attachment).

Creo Parametric Files (*.prt, *.asm) are supported in 2013 version of Autodesk Simulation Mechanical. This is a new capability we implemented in 2013 and it was not available in 2012.

Are there any plans to release an update to 2012 for this or will we need to upgrade to 2013?

In this case you will have to upgrade to the 2013 version.

Generally speaking Autodesk does back support older versions of software and releases "Service Packs", but those are only for "bug fixes" and not for enabling new features. The new technology always go in to the latest version and not to an older version of the software.

In this case the capability to open Creo files has been added to Simulation mechanical 2013 because the 2013 software uses a new geometry kernel called "Autodesk Shape Manager" and a translator called "Inventor Server". the combination of the 2 tools allows Simulation mechanical 2013 use to import several new CAD files such as; Catia, Creo, SolidWorks, Pro-E and others without having to have those CAD packages installed on their system
