Bulk Modulus to low?

HI there,

yesterday somebody raised the following question in German forum for Simulation Mechanical:

I want to simulate a part made of silicone (Mooney-Rivlin material model) , as silicone is not available from the standard material list I have chosen "rubber" instead. The simulation runs fine and the output seems to be realistic. But at the end of the simulation run the program says that there is one warning. When I open the log file it shows the following text:

"Warning: Given bulk modulus constant is too low and violates the incompressibility assumption. An estimated bulk modulus is used for the analysis."

can anyone here tell uswhat might be the reason for this behaviour?

regards

Matthias

Hi,

its me again. Please note that i did not translate the original question properly.

  1. The warning shown above pops up before the solver starts running
  2. The final deformation seems to be a bit to low

Regards

Matthias

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to chime in and say that I have the same question.  It never looks like this one got answered.
