Bug? : Zoom in/out and Rotate

Hello Everyone,

Am I the only one experiencing some weird problems with the zoom in and out and rotate Pivot?

This happens quite often actually and I couldn't find the exact reason for that, and the problem seems to come and go at its own will.

The fact is that sometimes the Pivot icon locks itself somewhere in the 3D space and the zoom and rotate functions stay locked to that position. I zoom in and it zooms and goes towards that point. Same for rotate.

This also happens on the results environment.

Is this normal?

Hi,

It depends on whether you are using the middle mouse button to do the zooming, or using the command "View > Navigate > Zoom > Zoom". (Also on the Nav Bar on the right, by using the "Zoom" option under the zoom button.)

If you have a normal cursor, you can hold the shift key and drag with the middle mouse button held down to zoom in and out. When doing this, the Pivot point always changes to the cursor location.

If in the dynamic Zoom mode, the cursor looks like a magnifying glass. Drag with the left mouse button held down to zoom in and out. If the Ctrl key is not held down, the Pivot point changes to the cursor location. If the Ctrl key is held down, the Pivot point does not change position.

Two notes:

  1. What keys and mouse buttons perform which task can be changed from "Tools > Options > Application Options > Mouse Options".
  2. If in the rotation mode ("View > Navigation > Orbit > Orbit", and cursor is the rotation cursor), you can right click to get options for setting the pivot point.

Let us know if you discover something different.

Zoom Zoom.
