Arruda Boyce material model for Silicone

Hi,

I looked at the recent Rubber Sim post with interest, as I am currently analysing a silicone component. I usually use the Mooney Rivlin model as recommended in the Rubber Sim post. However, this silicone has an elongation of 375%. Looking at previous FEA articles on this subject, it is suggested that the Arruda Boyce model is better suited to models with such elongations and also preferred for silicone.

I have successfully run a Mooney Rivlin model for this case, but I am interested in comparing the Arruda Boyce model with this.

For a 70 A Shore hardness silicone does anyone have the data to fill in the Autodesk material model, in particular, the Locking Stretch value?

Thanks.

Navigate to the following web address to view past Algor web courses:

http://www.algor.com/my_account/webcourse_access.aspx

Then view the course titled, "Using Hyperelastic and Viscoelastic Material Models in MES - 02/24/2009".

I believe this web course will answer all of your questions.
