Applying 'g' forces

Hello,

I have a compressor mounted on a S/M structure, that is expected to experience ~2 to 4 times the G force. Is there a way to apply this load on to S/M structure?

Currently, my analysis is set up with S/M structure and a node indicating the c.g. of the compressor. The node is connected to the sheet metal structure via remote load (weight of the compressor). The gravity is activing in -Y direction.

Thanks

Jay

You can assign the G (gravity) force, and then set a load curve with a multiplier with a value of ~2 to 4 times, as you mentioned.  In this case, the gravity of sheet metal part will also ~2 to 4 times, but it will be fine.

Hello Zhung,

This worked for me - once I set it up, it was pretty obvious.

Thanks for the feedback

Jay
