The AISC code check utility produces questionable results. The code check flaged beams as non-code compliant on one side of a symetrical structure but not on the other. I increased the beam size to address the deficiency, but without any change in the code check result. I noticed that regardless of beam size, the quantity Kl/r used in the buckling stability check was not changing. Clearly there is a bug in the utility that needs to be addressed. I have brought this to the attention of the tech support engineers. I was informed that it would become a priority with the developers to fix if more users complained about it not working properly. Please reply to this post if you need this utility to work correctly and help me get this issue fixed.
In addition, the option to use the current version of the AISC code should also be provided.
