3D sketch to beams

Is it possible to bring a 3D sketch from Inventor into Sim. Mechanical to use as the skeleton for a beam model?  I understand I can bring the vertices in as workpoints if needed but was hoping to skip this step since the connectivity is complex.

I tried launching the model with a 3D sketch only in it, and Simulation Mechanical told me there was no part in the file.

Thanks for any assistance.

I do not know if it is possible. If it is, you would need to export the sketch to either AutoCAD .dwg or .dxf format. Those two formats can be imported.
