S1 values differ between versions of Design and CompositePro

I am a CompositePro 3 user. The S1 and density values are similar but different than the previous CompositePro.

Simulation Composite Design 2014 does have slightly different values. The values are different because of the micromechanics model used. This micromechanics model utilizes a detailed finite element model of a fiber/matrix unit cell that features a uniform hexagonal distribution of parallel fibers embedded in a matrix material. The model discretization will yield a slightly lower fiber volume being used in the density calculation.

The answers will be different, but more accurate than before because of the robustness of our solution method. For a more detailed explanation, see section 4.2 of the user’s guide.
