Warning about unmeshed surfaces

Hi,

Often in SimCFD, I see a message in the output pane (the text lines) that reads "Warning - BCs on un-meshed surfaces will be ignored." Is this a generic warning or it actually refers to an unmeshed surface? And if it is not generic, how do I find the unmeshed surface?

As a disclaimer, I sometimes model the solid parts of the domain and just suppress it during the meshing. Is it possible that the so called unmeshed surface are of these parts?

Thanks

Omkar

Yes this is a soft warning

In some cases people do assign boundary conditions and then accidentally suppress in meshing that volume, so we would ignore those assignments as that condition is not assigned to a meshed face.

There are times where I have seen that warning as well when a condition has been assined to a face that resides between  a meshed volume and a suppressed volume (i.e. Slip/Symm assigned between meshed domain and capping geometry used to seal the cavity).
