Thermal Comfort related problem

Hello

In the Simulation CFD's online help the tutorial: Human Comfort Ventilation Study's model contain's an outlet. What this outlet is for? Does this indicate infiltration or the input of return air duct of the A.C.  Where the outlet should be placed ( in any place or always below the inlet) ?

Thanks  in advance

Outlets are required to allow for a flow solution.

If we have air coming in to the domain it has to be able to leave otherwise we would not have a proper flow solution. This isn't just for thermal comfort but any flow model we must define where flow comes in and where it can leave the domain. Outlet placement can be critical and would be something studied through design changes as placement can influence overall flow fields and in this case thermal comfort of the occupants
