the analysis has stopped because the solver has exited unexpectedly

Dear sir/mam,

I have made a part in Catia and saved it as a step file.

Importinging in cfd gives no problem.

Filling the void also doesn't give a problem.

No issues whatsoever when I go on.

But when I try to solve the simulation, I immidatly get an error 😞

So I though maybe my model is too complex, so I used a simple tube, but even that gives a the same error.

"the analysis has stopped because the solver has exited unexpectedly"

If you could reply soon, it will be greatly appriciated!

Are you running from a local drive?

Saved on local drive (google drive) yes.

Try just a folder on your C drive, that might be better

You've got to be kidding me.

It fixed it, spend hour searching for a solution.

I work in a googledrive folder for backup and acces from different pc's.

But that's not working with Simulation CFD. Good to know.

Thanks!

It can, I sometimes run from Dropbox but it is far better (and faster) to run from a local C drive folder.

Glad that worked. Did you search in AKN?

Yes, I've searched several topics and read about the no network drive requirement. I thought local cloud folders didn't count as a network drive.

Hmmmz,

Somehow I run in the exact same problem.

Before the break I've made a fine CFD study. After the break with the same settings I get the same error.

The file is on the desktop.

I really have no clue what the error is for now

Any ideas?

One time it works

Second time with the exact same settings it doesn't.

Maybe the solver software crashed in the background or something like that?

This program is becoming the bane of my existence.

One time it works. Second time it doesn't work with exact the same settings.

Check that you have full security rights to the CFD installation folder (Right click and check properties, should the the account called 'user').

How about re-installing with full admin rights?

It does sound as though something is blocking parts of the software from running.

Or perhaps the issue is the model setup? Can you repeat this issue with a simple model?

Thanks for your reply.

I gave user full rights in the program files folder. Didn't help.

A simple model didn't gave any issue.

So I tried using a model I've made a cfd study about before, again, and the error occured again.

Do you have a full subscription to support with us at all?

It would be good if we could check the model, incase that is causing an issue.

Repaing the program didn't help either.

I do get a error messages when I close the progam though.

"pure functioning call"

Gonna try reinstalling now.

Reinstalling didn't help either..

Really no idea what could be wrong.

It crashes btw, when the outputbar says "meshing".

A RAM issue? Can you monitor how much memory you are using at this stage? If not RAM then it is still likely to be an admin/security issue.

Does it begin the meshing task at all or fail once the mesher is invoked?

There is 57% ram lef (which is more than 4 gb)

This is what the outputbar displays:

Mesher process started...

Loading model...

Loading mesh sizes and constraints...

Meshing...

And then the errors appears.

But why do simple models work and slightly more difficult models sometimes?
