Revit connectivity with ASIM CFD

Dear Support,

I have following queries and please support me with resolving these,

I have REVIT MEP 2011 & ASIM CFD 2014 installed :

1. Can I import REVIT format files(.rvt/.rva) into ASIM CFD ? else how can I ?

2. How can I get CFD 2014 "Plug-in" inside REVIT 2011 ?

3. I saved REVIT files as .SAT and still I couldn't open in CFD, it gives error as "external component has thrown an exception" ! (though small .sat files are opening but not anything other than very small files)

Pls do aid me in above queries at earliest.

Regards,

Aj

Hi

i dont believe that there is a connection between 2011 and 2014 versions.

However you can try to configure CFD again from the file SimCFDConfig.exe from the install folder.

CFD will recognize the CAD installed and embedd itself. In Revit you will see something like this:

if it is not there like in my picture you can launch the sat file in CFD directly

If you get errors you probably have problems with the geometry.

Look at this before you go forward:

And finally, use Fusion. Open the sat file in Fusion 2013 and launch to CFD.

Good luck

Dan
