"The Analysis has stopped because the Solver has stopped unexpectedly" VPN

We have a license server at the office and I have Autodesk Sim CFD installed on my laptop; laptop serves as the solver.

Machine is HP Elitebook Workstation with Intel 2.5GHz i7 32GB RAM 220GB SSD.

I am able to run simulations perfectly inside the network firewall but when I VPN and try to run the simulation, the software gets through the meshing process and then provides the message shown in the title.  The next day, I can simulate the same model file inside the firewall with no problems.

I have tried everything I can think of short of moving the license server to my laptop (not really an option).  While on VPN, I can do everything else network related with no issues.  Pinging the server machine works fine over VPN from a command window.

The complexity of the model is not the issue (tried with a simple straight aluminum pipe with water).

Please help!

Hi Dan,

I would suggest that the solution here is to use licence borrowing, rather than vpn, which as far as I know, is not supported.

When you are in the office, you should be able to borrow the licence and then use this offsite.

Kind regards,

Jon
