Fre Surface 2014

Hi,

just a question...

To obtain "smooth" and free surface realistic simulation with Autodesk Simulation CFD 2014 like this:

VIDEO1

or ( from min  0:42 )

VIDEO2

is it only a question of meshing?

Or there is some particular setting?

Which are the setting for this examples?

Howlong does they take? And with which machines?

Thank you!

For animations like this there are 3 things

Meshing to capture the shape

Timestep size to ensure we are capturing the evolution of the fluid

Many save intervals for the animation.

This will create a very large data set

But even more than that, what matters is what you want from a bulky simulation!  CFD is warranted only if you are extracting meaningful results (like say the forces on the walls of tank due to sloshing etc). If animation is the only objective, there are dedicated animation packages 😉
