For a natural convection problem Simulation CFD is allowing me to create a 2D axisymmetric analysis with the x-axis as my axis of rotation (symmetry) and the minus y direction as my gravity vector (picture a cylindrical tank laying on its side on the ground). I didn't think this would work but the analysis ran giving results that are kind of in the ballpark.
- Are these results erroneous?
- For a 2D axisymmetric with gavity effects, must the gravity vector coincide with the axis of rotation?
