Distributed resistance problems

I am studying how to distribute a gas blow to a porous bed.

Gas velocity in bed is low, only 0.11 ft/sec.  I am using the constant model that has both viscous and inertial terms.

No matter whatI set the constants to, I cannot net more than a few thousandths of an inch of water pressure drop through the bed.  Pressure drop is in fact 0.84 inches of which 3/4 is from permeabliity and the remainder inertial.

If I use a resistance surface rather than a volume I can get the drop I want.  Unfortunately this does not show how the bed should be evening out the flow.

What am I missing here?

I would recommend using the flag no_difu_tensors 1.  With the solver flag set to one, you will revert to another distributed resistance model that does a better job for porous region for low speed flows.

Thank you Dave.

That worked.
