I can be helpfull to show suppressed elements in results, but they must be turned on one by one. Please allow users to select all or a group and check the "visible" box all at once.
This was the behavior in old versions, but in version 2013 you can multi-select a number of suppressed parts, right click, and pick show or hide to control the visibility. Is this what you are looking for?
