UVW Unrwap

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to achieve a completely flat and realistic 2d UV Map. I have found the peel tool to be the most accurate so far but it still doesn't seem to be a realistic unfolded representation of the model. The polygons are irregular where they should be consistent. I would appreciate any advice out there, thanks.

You can move uv's and stitch edges together to have a more perfect map. In most cases, you won't have a perfect uv map out of the box with one click, you will need some works, sometimes, hard work to achieve a perfect map.

Practices and good tutorials on this subject are important.

You could also try a plugin from an external source specialized in unwrapping, for example, Unwrella
