unwanted lens flare when rendering scene

So basically there's a lens flare in my rendered preview of the scene. I originally had two area lights and a direcitonal light in the scene, neither very intense. tried rendering and the lens flare happened. checked my render settings and the light attributes and nothing seemed out of the ordinary (but I'm no expert, just a student). So I deleted all of my lights, checked to see if there were any hidden lights, and rendereded. (I render by going to the render pull-down and click "render current frame"). Even though there are no lights, no matter what angle or distance in the scene there is a lens flare of various random amounts of flaring when I render it out. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm using the student version of Maya, bytheway.

Could you post the scene zipped in the forum so we can see if it happens in our machines
