I'm creating a piece that has the theme of going 2-D to 3-D to Live action in Maya 2015. When I use my .png/.tif's on cards/planes the transparent area of the picture shows up when I add the rolling fog from the visor. I've tried different lights and so on. I got it to be less predominant, but it's still there. I have spot lights and the plane has been changed to a Blinn without any specular (from Lambert) as my teacher suggested. But it's still there and I've tried messing with several parameters. I need to start the render of that part, like now. Can anyone help, soon, please and thank you. Pictures are attached.
First of all, thank you for responding... secondly, I did try that, but the edge is still showing up that little bit.
Hum, hard to pin point the problem, maybe you could try using a Mia_material X and use the pnj transparency into "Advance">cutout opacity.
Maybe transparency doesnt work that well with fog....I'm not sure
I think that your suggestion of the mia may have worked, I'm not having some other difficulties not letting me render at all at the moment, once I fix that, I will let you know for sure. If it did work, I will be so glad.
