Hello community.
I have 3 objects.
A. modelled and unwrapped object
B. 1x1 Sphere 1 meter away from object A
C. 1x1 Sphere 2000 meters away from object A
I proceed to render to texture object A with reflection map
Problem.
object C appears to be the same size as object B in the baked texture.
my goal is to render an animation with object A with physically correct reflections from B and C. from a fixed position (camera on attachment).
so.. the reflections need to be related to a perspective camera.
output needs to be object A unwrapp
any smart way to solve this in 3ds max?
no expertize on this matter or is my question diffuse?
this is easily done in C4D.
but i cannot believe that its not doable in 3ds max.
Hello.
I would suggest you view the following videos for help with your reflections:
https://www.youtube.com/user/3dsMaxHowTos/search?query=reflection
http://www.republicofcode.com/tutorials/3ds/reflection_br/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9yzG_Bj7Fo
If the above videos do not help hopefully someone else on the forums has a good idea.
Best Regards.
Hello Jonathan and thanx for your reply.
I will start with a But.
my question was not about how to make reflections in 3d studio max.
my question was about how to get the reflections from the viewpoint of an object not to appear orthographic.
my goal is to render to texture object A. (a unwrapped texture)
object B and C is reflected in object A. (but i need them to have the correct distance, not to look the like they are in the same distance from object A)
I understand that there has to be an input for render to texture ( render to texture is a feature in 3ds max where you get a texture from a object to be flatten out in uvw space) and usually this input is from top and relfections becom orthographic.
I want to use a specific Viewpoint to achieve the reflections. and in the attachment it will be the camera.
so back to my question. how to do this?
