I'm using Maya 2013 on Mac OS 10.8. all of my autodesk and apple software is up to date, and my video drivers are up to date. I'm using a Mac Pro with two Quadro 4000s.
I create a batch file to render multiple sections of an animation via Maya Terminal. It renders for a few hours, and then stops randomly. It's a random amount of time, and a random number of frames.
my render flags are
-r mr (mental ray)
-v 5 (show progress messages). When I changed this to show errors only, it didn't show any of signifigance, and when I set it to debug it didn't render at all
-rt 24 (using all 24 cores)
-aml (auto memory limit. activated this to see if it would resolve the issue, it didn't)
Rendering in maya seems to work fine, but I don't want to have to always check back after I've rendered my specified frames.
I am also using a 4 network machines with similar configurations as slave machines when rendering. I'm using Mental Ray satellite on those.
any tips, where could the problem be? or where should I start troubleshooting?
