Create a scrolling list of an arbitrary number of checkboxes?

I'm new to Scaleform and Flash. So far from what I've gathered to create something like a checkbox you need to manually place it individually in each flash file, and then define it in the actionscript.

What I need to do is support the creation of as many checkboxes as the user wants, prefereably in a scrolling list. This goes not only for checkboxes but for textinput fields as well or any other component, buttons etc.

So firstly, is it possible to create a scrolling list with components other than strings in the list. If so what demos should I look at or how would I go about this.

Secondly, can this be done with an arbitrary number of components or does each component need to manually be placed on the stage?

Thanks so much!
