Support Definition - Advanced - Peak Moments are not smoothing

Hi,

I am modelling a concrete base slab for a silo which is supported on 400SQ piles. The piles are modelled as elastic spring supports. When I define the pile/column dimensions in the advanced support definition there seems to be no change in the peak moments if I chenge between nodal support and column support options. I would expect the peaks to be smoothed out and reduced using the column dimensions. Is this correct in the robot model? I have attached screenshots and my model.
