Steel Designe Section check

Hi!

I check section in Steel Designe according to EN 1993-1-1! And I have a question about results.

Robot gives the highest ratio of stress verificaton. In code there is note who says, that this verification can be conservative and it should only be performed where the interaction of on te basis of resistance N,Rd; M,Rd; V,Rd cannot be performed.

Can you comment this?

Than you!

Yes, I know this. If tick elastic analysis, Robot start check this stresses.

But how much it is correct? If section check was made with N,Rd; M,Rd; V,Rd. EN 1993-1-1 6.2.1 (5)

Ration with \ without elastic checkbox ticked.

Truly saying I do not understand your question:
"But how much it is correct?"

I'am sorry.

I mean - how you (Robot team) understand this NOTE from EN 1993-1-1?

When you force the use of elastic analysis RSA recognizes a sections as being of class 3. In such situation it is assumed that plasticity is not allowed and the design is done for the elastic state. If so, RSA uses formulas (6.1) from chapter 6.2.1.(5) for the interaction of normal and transversal stresses.

Both simple and compound scenarios are verified:

Section strength check:

N,Ed/Nc,Rd + My,Ed/My,c,Rd + Mz,Ed/Mz,c,Rd = 0.25 < 1.00   (6.2.1(7))  - normal stress

sqrt(Sig,x,Ed^2 + 3*Tau,y,Ed^2)/(fy/gM0) = 0.16 < 1.00   (6.2.1.(5)) -  - normal and transversal stress

Vy,Ed/Vy,c,Rd = 0.01 < 1.00   (6.2.6.(1)) - transversal stress

Vz,Ed/Vz,c,Rd = 0.00 < 1.00   (6.2.6.(1)) - transversal stress
