Steel Connection Remark

Hi,

Which is the purpose and basis of the remark pointed in the following attached note from the steel design module?

Thanks,

Dirgs

The code usually imposes some 'geometrical' limitations such us e.g. distance from a bolt to edge of a plate (which influences its height  or width). If  such condition is not fulfilled the corresponding message is shown in the remarks field of the note.

Hello Artur,

The code used EN1993-1-8 has geometrical dispositions on 3.5. for edge distances and distances between bolts. In this case, maximum allowed distances are fulfilled, so I'm still wondering where the 4990mm height remark came from!?

The warning should not be displayed. Caused by the fact that during the geometrical verification of the connection the height of the upper stiffener is incorrectly doubled.

Hi,

Could you look at the attached file please?

It seems like the edge distances are checked incorectly and wrong output results are given.

The connection attached obviously does not conform to any codes but Robot says it does.

It seems to calculate the edge distance for top bolts from the top of the endplate but completely ignores the beam flange wich clashes with the bolts.

Thanks

Thank you for posting this information. we will check why this check is not done.
