Section builder workflow

Hi

I am a little unsure how the section builder module works.

I want to define a new profile which I am able to under section definition. From here I save the profile to my database.

When I run structure analysis, the profile is discretized and I now see the stresses.

1. Do I have to do the stress analysis before saving to database?

2. Can I apply loads to for instance an angle to controll the moment capacity?

       -  If possible, how is it done?

       -  If not possible, what is the point of the stress analysis

Kind Regards

Peder

No, you don't.

This is the Steel Design module 'responsibility'.

If not possible, what is the point of the stress analysis

In the Section Builder module this is just the auxiliary tool that allows you to check stress distribution without using this section in a model. Of course you can access the Stress Analysis module 'from' the model too and import the section together with its internal forces later on to check stress distribution along and across the section.
