Roof Brace problem

Hi,

I'm experiencing a problem with Robot Structural Analysis 2014.

We're designing a rather large building where we have horizontal braces in the roof (they are in the same level as the roof).
These aren't supposed to take any load from the roof, just lateral forces.

Usually we'd solve this by using a cladding as roof and choosing "Ignore" in the "Trapezoidal and triangular method".

But in this case the roof is made as a panel with mesh to simulate the stiffness of the roof and the effect it has on the building as a whole.

But when we have the roof as a mesh the loads rfom the roof are transferred into these braces.

How can I solve this?

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter!

//Martin

Normally, if you set this parameter in the object inspector as "neglected" for the proper bars it should not carry any load even with FE.

Come back if it doen'st work.

I think I just realized the problem.
I accidently put the direction of the trapezoid plate in the X instead of Y.

Looks better now.

If your bracing intersects the cladding and you didn't set the box as mentionned above, it will take loads I think ... to be sure I always neglect these bars in the loads transfer.
