Robot Structural Analysis

I can't find a thread for robot structural analysis, nor for a general autodesk discussion - so I'm putting this in here for lack of better knowledge.

How to input node co-ordinates for, e.g., a bar column?

I try to write them in the fields as instructed in the tutorial material but, infuriatingly, sometimes they go in and sometimes they don't.

And, if they are in, the next step is to 'Add', but sometimes the 'Add' button is grayed out and sometimes it isn't. When it isn't, I can use it. But usually, it is grayed out and I can't use it.

It's madness. It seems to have something to do with the cursor in the background, in the design window because sometimes coordinates obviously derived from the movement of that cursor will leap into one of the node fields but I can't find how to put a stop to that.

maybe this question is in fact generic with autodesk products, that'd be good, increase my chance of an answer...

regards,

ab

Me too, would like to see forum for Robot. Seems, that we are so rare yet, that they do not bother.

Your inputs: You have to learn first the grid system of Robot. It puts his ( hers ?) nodes on grid ( only ).

I'm not close enough to advice anybody yet either. I should have time to learn Robot too. I'm heading there.

Let's see how long it takes before Robot is considered as equal member of Autodest products,
so that we can easily find our forum.

Hello Matti....

thanks for your contribution.

All sorts of funny things about this forum eh? Case sensitive passwords requiring one capital and one number.... worse than my bank..

Hope we can make some progress..
