Very open question?  Smiley Sad

Which part do you need to model?   Wall, footing, or both?  What conditions for support, what loads?

Message 3 of 17

i want both of them ( wall & footing ) .. also surcharge load , active pressure on stem and passive pressure on toe

that's all ... thanks a lot

Have you made an attempt yet?

Show what you have tried.

It's a two way road.......

i tired to model it as solid .. i don't know if this is right or wrong ..

wouldn't do it with a solid.  Two plates will work .

can you show me how ?  and assign the load on it .. ! thanks sir

I do it all the time. I'll upload a file Monday. Basically you model both wall and footing as panels. The footing panel has a horizontal planer reaction set along with soil reaction properties set. The loading on the wall is standard. The analysis is run as nonlinear due to the soil springs assigned to the footing.

Why not just give your design parameters to Bjur, he can model it for you no?

why do you need to run it as non-linear analysis? Is the standard analysis not enough to capture the result?

Because the back of the wall footing may not have soil bearing (no tension on dirt). Need to run as nonlinear to remove reactions at any uplift areas.

Thanks Bjur, can you possibly look at my ret. wall model if it is done correctly(pls. see attached).
