RC walls or core walls?

Hello,

I have been looking at RSA help files and previous posts on the forum for nominating RC walls as core walls.

Am I correct in thinking, you should nominate walls as core walls if they are interconnected, for example, where it is a three or four sided walls around lift / stair? This will allow RSA to calulate the increased section properties of thsi 'group'.

Where I have isolated 'shear' walls these should just be nominated as wall elements?

Many thanks!

You can assign group of walls or single wall to Core Wall group.

As you like , as you need.

Thanks Rafal,

Just one more query.

If you do not assign walls as 'core walls' they will still attract horizontal wind loads?

Core wall is "artificial" group of walls to present different results in different way.
No need to create them.
