RC column Design EC2 - effective creep coefficient

Hi all,

After proceding some calculations on RC Columns module design of RSA Professional 2013 SP3 I've found some remarks that I´d like to be discussed:

1 - When running a second order analysis based on the nominal curvature method, the efective creep coeficient used in RSA calculations is the final creep coeficient and not the efective creep coeficient as is defined in clause 5.8.4 of EC2.

The use of the efective coeficient creep leads to a considerable reduction of second order efects.

Is this a RSA limitation or am I missing to activate some calculation options in RSA?

2 - About the nominal curvature method, to define both Kr and dit is necessary to know the reinforcement area. How does RSA deals with this? Is it an iteractive procedure?

Thank you.

It can be different

unless M0Eqp/M0Ed =1

If it is not the case please send us model

Ad.2 It is iterative process.

Dear Rafal,

Find the calculation note in attachment. The RSA file is over 1Gb, I'll send you ASAP without calculations.

Meanwhile, as it can be seen in the report, despite M0Epq being lower than M0Ed the creep coeficient used is the final not the efective.

Thank you.

It is planned to be checked by develoers next week.

It does not work for imported combinations because Robot is not capable to recognize which QPR combination is related  to which ULS state.

It should work when simple cases are imported to RC module.

I will register it as option for implementation in future.
