Pushover analysis on a reinforced concrete building

Hi,

I'm currently in a french design office for an internship and my project is to check the resistance of existing buildings by using the push over analysis in Robot. I'm using the 2014 version by the way.

My question is : By making a pushover analysis on a whole concrete building, is it possible to know precisely where the plastic hinges will appear ?

1/ There is no automatic creation of plastic hinges in Robot. User has to define them in points where they can be expected.

2/ When RC nodes are defined in RC Design and reinforcement related to them is calculated it can be predicted that hinges will not occur in columns but in beams connected to them

3/ Hinge models specific to concrete are unfortunately not available in Robot

Thanks for your answer.

Do you think it's possible to create hinges that can approach the behavior of reinforced concrete ?
