Problem generating mesh (steel deck plate)

Hi,

I am having some trouble generating the mesh for the panels of the model. The system goes frozen and I have to restart it. I have tried to open it with the repair option with no success.

If I try to generate a mesh locally for each panel I obtain a weird combination of many FE and few FE.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

I have tried the options highlighted in the presentation without success. The model gets frozen during calculation at the same point as before - while generating the mesh. I cannot progress from here.

Hi, 

I have attempted the solutions as suggested on this thread and according to the webinar 6. However, my model still keeps hanging at  'Mesh regeneration. Number of objects. 149'. I have attached the model here for any assistance if possible. I am at intermediate level and I will appreciate any further advice/modelling strategies, philosophy etc...

Keep in mind Your model is inaccurate.

For example walls are not aligned  (1272 1355 1273 1320 1321 1353 )

Slab 1340  arc is not "compatible" with bars circle.

Correct geometry , mesh walls first, then slabs, then most likely you will need to remesh some walls or correct meshes different way
