Open DXF problem

Hello,

I am trying to open a DXF file in Robot and analyze the following structure:

DXF file

But although I can open the file in Robot nothing appears. After I set the parameters for loading the DXF files, the merge structure window appears, but there is no structure created.

Result

Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thank you.

It looks like a dxf made from faces? (as opposed to lines/ploylines)

You need to make the geometry with line elements, then it should work OK

Robot can import from dxf \ dwg lines, polylines, arc, circles, faces and meshes

The profiles are made with sweep. This is why I can't import them in Robot?

Do I need to draw the centerlines of each profile? And if so, will they be defined as bars in Robot?

Thank you.

Lines, polylines, arec circles - yes, as bars

Are you able to save it as ACIS \ sat file? IF so it can be imported to robot as shell panels or solids

Yes, I can save as *.sat file, but I would prefer to import the structure as bars, not panesl.

So you need centerlines

Ok. I've done that. I have only centerlines in the dwg file. I have saved it as dxf file from Autocad, but when I try to open it in Robot, I recieve an error : Error in loading file '' .

Do you know why?
