Modelling a deep beam with incoming slabs at different levels

Hi,

I have two RC slabs monolithically cast into a 1550mm deep beam at adjacent sides but at different levels (TOS +5.300 & 4.350 respectively).

How would I model this? The beam would be modelled with it's centreline on the edge of the top slab and then offset down so that the top of the beam will sit flush with the slab (as shown below). Would I then have to use rigid links to provide a connection between the slab nodes and the beam centreline? Please could you advise how I do this?

Thank you

Richard

you could model it as you've shown, just using panels. draw the slab panels horizontally, then add the vertical panel in. The vertical panel will act as a deep beam depending on how you set up the panel calculation model.

and it is better than using Rlink in my opinion.

Please Tony Can you upload a file with small model of what you've explained , please
Because I'm facing the same problem right now.
