Meshing of solid model of RC dam

Hello to all,

We have problems in meshing a RC dam model for a bachelor thesis of one student.

3D model of a RC dam

The dam body was modeled with several independant solid blocks. Each block shares the same contact areas with the surrounding blocks.

Each block was created by extruding a face and then its geometry was modified by using 'Deformation' option from Object modification.

When trying to mesh the model, 'Incoherent mesh' error occurs, which was more or less expected. We tried to override this error by creating one solid body of the whole dam with the option 'Union' from the Object combinations dialogue box.

But, this option does not work at all. No unification was created.

Object combination problem

Do you have any idea how to solve the problem?

Correct model this way (object by object) then mesh object by object

Thank you Rafal.

As always, you did very nice support.

One more thing. During divison of the blocks with Objects Modification, it is not possible to select all blocks at once and divide them.

Is this correct?

Best regards,

No, that's why I wrote "object by object"

Oh, yes, you are right.

Thanks!

And why 'Union' does not work?
