Hey! I am trying to model a building and I only want the lateral displacement off the floors to be present for the modal analysis. How may I proceed? I have used shell elements for the walls and ridged diaphragms for the floor. When I use this kind of modeling the floors can rotate and I get an axial deformation in the walls…. Please help!!
One modal analasys for the X directrion and one for the Y.. The pic. is the first mode in the Y dir.
do you have an e- mail it seems the file is to big ore i ant copress it corectly
use www.wetransfer.com or www.filemail.com service or any similar then post link here or in private message
How do you think?
From where do I have model to show you errors http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Robot-Structural/Mesh-consetration/td-p/3763970 ?
Calm down , I will look
As far as we understood your desire it is rather not possible to obtain (maybe with adding additional supports...)
Take a look at attached screen shot. This is an example of wall subjected to act only in Y / Z directions (supports blocking X in all nodes defined). So for such simple model you get "axial" wall deformation.
BTW: do not you think you should use Membrane diapgragm rather then Rigid?
Of course it is your choice, just my remark.
