Instability in beam

Hi Rafal

Please find the attached file. Why instability occurs while beam length is 15m and the section used is HEA600. How can I get rid of this instability. I supposed HEA400 will be OK.

Hi Rafal

Please find the attached file. When I choose 0.9 as the coefficint of length the section will be OK. What should I add to the model so that the beam will be stable?

The steel design code usually imposes limit on slenderness of a profile which is the function of its length. If you exceed it it is reported as instable profile. In such case you should increase the size of a beam despite the fact it is already large enough for applied load (strength verification).
