File purge

 Hi all

Who knows how to purge big .rtd files without affecting the basic data, like: nodes, elements (bars/panels)

Saving without results, left the file at 50% of its original size, but it is not enough

it contains too much unusable data like old drawings

This affect the performance, because it takes too long perform any order that involves load, transfer

Thanks in advance

You can try opening the file with "Repair Mode" active:repair_mode.png

To avoid unexpected effects please folllow the steps described in the message 6 of this post:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Robot-Structural-Analysis/Error-message-quot-Encountered-an-improper-a...

Opening in Repair Mode does not remove screen captures from Printout Composition so it may be useful to open it and delete unnecessary screen captures.

Thank you Pawel

Opening the file in repair mode it is ok.

Using the label manager and deleting the unused element definition

Design ... Steel Member Design Options.... Code Parameters

Label manager ( in order to delete my renumbered elements Member Definition Parameters)

it deletes all the unused definitions, inclusive the material definition for existing elements

this makes the file unusable

Are you sure that used labels were deleted?

When deleting unused labels is run while several dialogs with labels are opened it is possible to observe some effects resulting from not refreshing the dialogs - like in this video

But as you can see in it the labels are not deleted - after re-opening the dialog all used labels are displayed.
