I am trying to model a highly eccentic foundation with solid (3D) elements.
How do I add supports to a solid with a stiffness in -Z and capable of uplift in the +Z direction?
I have done this numerous times with panel type elements and it is very straightforward- however first time with solids.
Any help that can be offered would be appreciated.
Thanks for the response Rafal.
When I do this as an 'elastic' planar support I have to specify a stiffness in the Uz direction (kN/m). Does this act only in the downward (-Uz) direction.
As I am modelling a foundation it needs a stiffness in downward but complete freedom to uplift.
Thanks in advance for any further help.
