Definition of Stories - equivalent lateral force method

Hi

I have a large building I want to run seismic analysis on using equivalent lateral force method.

As I understand, I need to define levels and assign my elements to them.

Its a basement with several buildings on top. The buildings on top do not lay on the same level or have the same level height.

Do I need to make levels for each of the building which will make many of my elements pass through several levels, or use as few levels as possible which will cause many of my elements to be defined outside stories?

I am sure there is a better way of doing this, please help?

Regards

Peder

Hi @pevelor

Seismic analysis on using equivalent lateral force method isn't applicable for such building you need to do dynamic Seismic analysis .
