I examine an cylindrical shell r=1,46 meters,l=6,4 meters with loads of selfweight, snow 0,7 and insulation 0,342.Thickness is 8 centimeter. Load Combination: ULS -> 1,35G+1,5Q. Shell suports are fixed. I take results in displacements such 0,111 mm and smaller. This seems a little confussing. In order to examine the shell i add a linear displacement of 4mm in scale from node to node for example 1node-4mm, 2 node- 3,9mm, 3node->3,8 until the end of displacement. I took great moments. I believe that is impossible to have only 0,111mm Uz. Please could you tell if there is a problem with displacements displayed by the programm?
Kind regards,
iassoniako
My quick check: geometry as you described, thickness 8cm Concrete, only selfweight.
Resulst as shown below (in mm)
Keep in mind it is cylindrical shell :
Selfweight only:
Flat plate 2,92x6,4 gives you 6 times bigger displacement:
