Cross Bracing and Instability

Hi every body,

usually when modeling a stell deck or a composite slab of a steel frame building we can use :

1)pannels

2)Rlinks + bar or/cladding

3)cladding + bar + st andrew cross (bar also)

My question is about type 3, as st andrew cross works mainly in tension/comp, we usually put releases at both ends in order to avoid parasite moment. Many instabilities car appears because someone forgot to release all BUT ONE bars in for same node -> boring ..

The question is it equivlent to define the 2 diagonals working only in tension/compression with no release at the end to have diagonals with release non restriction about the efforts .. if it is I would be keen on using the first technique.

What do you think?

If they are not connected at their intersections then you can try to use truss bars instead.
