Core Walls Uplift

Mr Robot,

I am trying to model a multi storey building and I am experiencing unusual results regarding the disoplacements of the core walls. As you can see in the attached screenshot, the columns are being compressed slightly under the loading of the many storeys, but in contrast the core walls are been showing as moving upwards. Is there any logical explanation for this?

I have checked the reactions at the base and there is no sign of any uplift occuring.

There is no wind load applied, just dead + imposed at this stage.

Thanks

Jon

Jon,

Local z is in the direction perpendicular to the panel. Check
