connections welding

Hi

I have my forces on the member

Max : Fx = 1.67 kN; Fy =3.43 kN ; Fz = 1.3 kN; Mx = 0.15 kN.m; My = 0.94 kN.m; Mz = 0.74 kN.m

Min : Fx = -2.34 kN; Fy =-3.5 kN ; Fz = -3.61 kN; Mx = -0.11 kN.m; My = -1.04 kN.m; Mz = -1.11 kN.m

And I want to know where I can use this forces on my assembly ?? Forces in bars but which forces i choose ?

You can see the file attached.

See section Steel design : Connections

I can consider 4 welds with Eurocode ? or it.s impossible ?

And with Robot, I can't chosse an option like 2 welds or 4 welds ?

In Eurocode3 : section 4.1, file attached, there is no 0.9 factor, why in Robot there is 0.9 ?

If you mean for hand calculations than my assumption would be that you can yet it is not recommended.

Robot always follows the recommendation I indicated in my previous post.

My understanding is that it is what 2005 release says however if I remember correctly 0.9 wasn't in the previous version of EC3.

Hello,

Just to be sure, in Autodesk Robot : Connections.

The ad = 5 [mm] Thickness of welds of diagonals and posts is equal a (see the pic)

Or ad is equal s ?

Thank you.

Your value is correct. We need to investigate the calculations of stress caused by bending. Thank you for notifying us about this situation.

Corrected in SP4 for Robot 2015.

You can export RSA model or selected elements to Advance Steel > create connection(s) > verify them for forces imported from Robot according to US code.
